Authorities continue to investigate the Wednesday night fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man on Golden Camp Road.

Richmond County sheriff’s investigators said Terrell Kenan Calloway died at Medical College of Georgia Hospital after he was shot about 9:30 p.m. near Hawthorne Drive.

Deputies think Calloway was homeless, and they have not determined why he was in the Golden Camp Road area Wednesday evening. His last known address was a burned down vacant building.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday. Calloway is the 23rd homicide victim in Augusta this year.

What a terribly sad situation

What a terribly sad situation - homeless - living in a burned down vacant building and then getting shot to death with no one caring. And the killer is loose. Let us hope he will be found quickly.
