A thief stole 14 ground cable wires from an AT&T tower site on Gordon Highway, police said.

Larry M. Longtin, 55, from Warrenton, Ga., told police someone entered the tower, cut and stole the 4-foot-long wires between Aug. 25 and Monday, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

Officers noted entry was gained into the site by climbing the fence and cutting the wires.
