Pedestrian struck in Augusta; vehicle leaves scene


A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle around 8:20 p.m. Thursday, and the driver left the scene, Richmond County police radio broadcasts indicate.

The incident happened in the 400 block of Highland Avenue, according to dispatch.

The vehicle was described as a silver four-door Pontiac Grand Prix, last seen going south on Highland Avenue.

Dispatch could not provide details on the extent of injuries or number of people involved.
