It was a RCSO Deputy that was hit...a serious head injury (he will recover)...and it looks as though they have one in custody after a foot chase through the Summerville area of Augusta. One other suspect being sought. The deputy was working a security detail at Surrey Center when it happened.

This is sketchy. Was there a crime being committed, an attempt to stop the vehicle, intentionally running over the officer or what?

The deputy was approaching

The deputy was approaching the vehicle after he was asked to check out suspicious behavior by the occupants by a patron. As he approached...they floored it and hit him dead on...on purpose according to witnesses.

If the officer is seriously

If the officer is seriously hurt, we'll have to start a fund for him. What a shame.
