The man shot in the face Saturday evening has been identified by police as Jonathan Davis, 22, of the 3200 block of Brandywine Circle.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report, a witness told officers that Davis knocked on her door about 8:30 p.m. and, when she opened it, he fell inside with a gunshot wound to the right side of his jaw.

Witnesses say two black men were seen leaving the scene. One has dreads and was wearing a white tank top and blue jeans. The other was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. Both ran toward Fox Den Apartments, the sheriff’s office said.

Davis was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital with an injury not considered life-threatening, sheriff’s Lt. Robbie Silas said.
