Police are looking for two vehicles that were involved in a shootout Saturday afternoon in Augusta, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies were sent about 2:30 p.m. to the 2300 block of Amsterdam Avenue after gunfire was reported. Two witnesses told officers that a white Chevrolet Impala and a white Jeep Cherokee with four to five black males in each car stopped on the street and started shooting at each other, the report says.

Police found 23 shell casings in the road. A neighbor’s car windshield was shot through, but no one was reported hurt.
