A car was stolen about 2 p.m. Tuesday from an Augusta store parking lot, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

David Wickware, of the 800 block of Turning Leaf, told deputies a thief stole his black 2000 Mazda 626 from the Ashley Furniture at 230 Robert C. Daniel Parkway. He said he left the car unlocked and the keys under the floor mat.

Not a good idea to leave

Not a good idea to leave anything unlocked these days, but then, locks are for honest people.

Still sounds fishy. Someone

Still sounds fishy. Someone chose just the right car, unlocked, which happened to have the keys conveniently placed under the mat. I can already assume that the parking lot has no cameras, right?
