A gun was stolen Saturday evening from an Augusta home.

At 8 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a burglar alarm at a home in the 1700 block of Elizabeth Street, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report.

The officer noted in the report that it appeared the gate and back door had been kicked in. The deputy called the owner, Brian Alton Rouse, who came home and told the officers that his chrome semiautomatic handgun and his iPod Touch had been taken.
