Authorities in Richmond County are investigating the theft of eight commercial air conditioning units valued at $16,000.

The units were taken from behind Mcteer Food & Fuel Express sometime between Sept. 15 and 28, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report. The business, at 1237 Gordon Highway, has been closed for several months.

The units were reported missing Thursday. No suspects were named.
