Richmond County officers made more than 20 arrests and issued more than 200 speeding citations in the Labor Day special operation from Sept. 2 through Monday.
Officers made the majority of their arrests Friday with a total of 10, 3 of which with DUIs, along with six speeding citations.
The number of speeding citations grew with each day and finally climbed to 133 on Monday, according to a news release.
During the four-day holiday weekend, officers totaled 207 speeding citations, 17 seatbelt violations, three no insurance, 10 suspended licenses, 62 warnings and 32 other violations, one misdemeanor drug arrest and served 10 misdemeanor warrants, with a grand total of 28 arrests.
