Authorities are looking for a one-armed man who stole a pickup at a car wash July 30.
The man, who appeared to be missing his left arm, had been seated on a bench at Top Notch Car Wash, 3425 Wrightsboro Road, for some time before jumping into the driver's seat of a black 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche and driving off, according to Richmond County sheriff's Investigator Billy Dixon.
A car wash employee was vacuuming the rear passenger side at the time of the theft. The vehicle had Georgia tag 999 XBK.
Dixon said the bandit hit the curb and blew out a rear tire during his escape.
I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the one arm thing.
dang.....now we have to watch our backs at the car wash...:(
We better watch our backs EVERYWHERE.
and hopefully the thief will be paying for them with time....
Okay.... Did nobody else notice the date of this incident? Why did they wait over a week to report this to the polive? And if they did report it to the police in a timely fashion, why is the Chronicle reporting such stale news???
"Einstein" Because the AC is just like the rest of Augusta behind in the times. They continue to run the same articles 4 or 5 days in a row. You can't tell me there is not any up to date news to report.
Remember those knob things that folks used to install on their steering wheels. . Maybe if the 'one armed bandit' had had one of those he wouldn't have damaged the rim!! LOL Seenit, you especially have to watch your back in Richmond although we do not have a crime problem according to others!

If he blew out a tire, how did he get away? Seems to be some addition problems here....ain't addin' up.
I can't believe I know this Pu239, but "dubs" are 20's, and "dueces" are 22's. But you might be right about the run-flats. lol
Something tells me this guy has had lots of problems with the law.
