Authorities are investigating who took at least $2,000 worth of batteries from trucks at an Augusta business.
According to an incident report, employees at American International Movers at 1611 Nixon Road noticed 10 Exide truck batteries were removed from five freightliners after arriving to work Monday morning.
The trucks were secured in a gated parking lot at the time of the theft. Police said it was not evident how the thief gained access to the batteries.
Somebody had to have had a strong back to tote off all those big truck batteries and maybe a truck to drive off with them.
