Copper worth $4,200 stolen from old mall

Someone stole eight 50-foot sections of copper wire valued at $4,200 after forcing open a garage door on the lower level of the old Regency Mall, according to a Richmond County sheriff's report.

The wire was cut from an electrical room near the main entrance of the former mall at Gor­don Highway and U.S. Highway 1 between 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday.

The Richmond County Mar­shal's Office will notify the building's owner, Cardinal Management LLC of Mattituck, N.Y.
