Family members are offering a $500 reward for the recovery of a statue removed from the Old Medical College on Telfair Street.
Trav and Kate Paine dedicated the Alice Paine monument in 1981 after their 5-year-old daughter died after an extended illness from a rare genetic disease.
The bronze statue was removed from its granite pedestal about Sept. 24.
The family is offering a reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest.
If the statue is returned, the family is willing to offer the reward with no questions asked, a news release said.
Anyone with information can contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at (706) 821-1080 or (706) 821-1020.
Is there anything, anywhere, anymore that a criminal won't steal?
I want to know why the chronicle insists on naming this guy as Trav Paine instead of his real name TRAVERS Paine. They seem to be helping him to hide the fact he had been disbarred as a lawyer and is now in high standing in Richmond County as a legal representative.
