Man holds resident at gunpoint

  • Follow Crime & courts

An Augusta man was sleeping on his couch when he awoke to find another man pointing a gun at him and demanding money and jewelry, according to a Richmond County sheriff's report.

Benjiman Hermond told police that the man entered his home in the 2000 block of Lombardy Court just after midnight Sunday. As he held a gun on Hermond, the robber went room to room ransacking the house , according to the report.

Someone needs an inside alarm

Someone needs an inside alarm so you won't be surprised by intruder. You can find them at Home Depot/Lowes & not that expensive....so when someone enters your house you will know.

Wouldn't it be worth the

Wouldn't it be worth the money to have a neighborhood watch guard to drive through & watch for anything out of the norm?? Just saying this area seems to be easy pickings for the baddies.

Even better than an in-home

Even better than an in-home system is a, before you even get to the door alarm, that squeals when someone breaks the connection. Works well and is inexpensive.

Does this qualify as a "home

Does this qualify as a "home invasion" or not?

Why is not called one?

And how about a description of the perp so when he is next seen

sauntering around the neighborhood at 1:00 am someone can interupt

his next surprise visit?

I am in agreement with some

I am in agreement with some of the others, how about a little more info when throwing out these little news posts AC. It's ridiculous to put fear into people and have people freaking out when we don't even know the situation in its entirety.
