Authorities continued Friday to look for a man who caused a disturbance at a convenience store earlier this week.

According to an incident report, a man entered Old Town BP at 443 Broad St. about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and asked for a job application. After being told the store wasn't hiring, the man grew violent.

A witness told officers the man started throwing shelves and food across the store and chased out all of its customers. The damage was estimated at more than $2,000.

"A witness told officers the

"A witness told officers the mean started throwing shelves and food across the store and chased out all of its customers. "

I agree that he was mean, but wouldn't it make more sense to say 'the mean man started throwing shelves and food' ?

the proper thing to do is for

the proper thing to do is for the store owner to be armed, and shot the fool....throwing items at patrons or threatening them is justification enuff for that fool to be put out of his misery

The police need to go up and down 9th street over and over, from the Laney Walker entrance down to the riverwalk, he'll probably be out on that strip after 1:00 am walking. It's to bad neither of the clerks had a gun.

A salute to the brave store

A salute to the brave store clerk!! She stayed on the job - don't know if she had a gun or not, could not tell too well - but she certainly showed him the door. Congratulations young lady - we need more people like you and I hope it WAS a gun - then 'cool' if you did not use it!!

LOL that black clerk should have had an iron pipe behind the counter (old school) and WHACKED him several times HARD as she could. Looks like he pushed a shelf on one of the customers at the 24 second mark.

Yeah, he was definitely dressed for success. I suggest a Dale Carnegie course to coach him on how to behave during a job interview. Did you know the customers in the store can sue the store owner for not providing enough security?

For you all suggesting the

For you all suggesting the workers should have shot the man , that is completely ignorant and asinine - if they had done that , they would have been arrested for AT LEAST manslaughter if not murder . The suggestion of beating him up is a good one IF the employee had been an in-shape male , however , these 2 clerks would have lost in a fight with this drugged-up mental case .

Wrong 3g. Dead perps can't

Wrong 3g. Dead perps can't testify. The clerk could say he was threatened, demanded cash, said he had a gun in his pocket etc. Not a charge would be filed against the clerk.

It looks like she tried to spray mace in his face. Either way she is a brave one. She needs a raise for staying calm and on the job. The other lady behind the counter left.

If I understand EEO

If I understand EEO guidelines, anyone who requests an employment application should be provided one, or, alternatively, directed to the company website to fill out one online. While the young man is obviously in the wrong, it might have been possible to defuse the situation, had the guidelines been followed.

bill.waters, you really think

bill.waters, you really think this drugged up loser would have said thank you have a nice day and left peacefully had he been instructed to go online to fill out an application? I hope you are being sarcastic and not that naive. Nor would an application work if hes too high to even wear a shirt to ask for a job. If he did ask for a job he was looking for temporary under the table trash or sweeping for a little booze or drug money, not a real job. You bleeding hearts are killing this country. We don't need to bow down to the entitlement crowd nor criminals, especially those high on drugs! Wake up!!

Don't forget Baronvonreich,

Don't forget Baronvonreich, there is a video camera recording the whole incident. It's easy to play Monday night quarterback than having to seat in the hot chair in court to testify about what was done!
