Fry denies guilt in bribery case

  • Follow Crime & courts

The Augusta man accused of offering two county commissioners a bribe pleaded not guilty Friday in Richmond County Superior Court.

David W. Fry, 52, faces two counts of bribery. He was arraigned Friday. His case is assigned to Judge Carl C. Brown Jr.

Fry is accused of offering Mayor Pro Tem Alvin Mason and Commissioner Corey Johnson special privileges if they would support a pending commission vote on the city's attempts to build a trade center downtown.

It would be nice if the truth

It would be nice if the truth about this bribe would come out in court somehow. Who was behind Fry? If you can't threaten the Commissioners to approve the TEE, you try to bribe them. Think hard now, everyone.

If you think back..there was

If you think back..there was this person on the news that kept saying, If we don't hurry up and move on the TEE Center, that the Hotel people were going to bolt. That person had financial gain in the passing. He kept giving the commissioners ,the 30 day or it's going to fall apart routine..You people are smart and know who owned property that will come in to play. Who knows Mr Fry might have done some" legal " work (no pun intended ) for him.

Pleaded or pled? I prefer

Pleaded or pled? I prefer pled (lawyer's daughter). Journalists seem to prefer pleaded.

I will reserved pleaded for the past tense if I have been begging for something, like not to be killed.
