Man beaten, robbed outside apartments

  • Follow Crime & courts

A Dearing, Ga., man was beaten and robbed at 12:42 a.m. Thursday after getting out of his car at Governor’s Place Apartments, according to a Richmond County sheriff's incident report.

The 22-year-old told officers he fell to the ground after being hit in the head by the two subjects. One of the suspects was carrying an aluminum bat, but the victim couldn’t verify if it was the object that hit him, police said.

They then kicked the victim several times in the parking lot at the 3200 block of Wrightsboro Road before demanding he empty his pockets and open his vehicle.

The suspects took several items before leaving. The bat was found nearby, police said.

The faces of both suspects were covered with black bandanas.

Welcome to the Garden City.

Welcome to the Garden City. Of course, Southern Hospitality in this fine city shouldn't include having a face plant into the landscaping.

As always, I would advise all

As always, I would advise all who are eligable to obtain your Georgia Firearms License (GFL). You can buy a good self defense pistol quite cheap now a days. With the passing of Senate Bill 308 recently even the 140 year old "Public Gathering" law has been axed and you can now even safely and legally carry your weapon at almost any venue you want now.

That was hilarious Emanuel

That was hilarious Emanuel Kant. Did you think of that all by yourself. People who carry guns to protect themselves and their loved ones ARE paranoid, ignorant and poor. You are one funny guy. You should see if the AC will let you write your own weekly column.

Better yet, get a big sign for your front yard that says, "Gun Free Zone".

We all need to get a

We all need to get a concealed weapons permit to protect ourselves from the free loading Hussein followers. Augusta is a good example of how well the entitlement programs are working. Hussein wants to increase those programs.

22 yro Dearing man, do NOT be alarmed, this happens all the time. We're told to NOT be alarmed. Get used to it, after all it is Augusta!

Just nitpicking - a GFL is for both concealed carry and open carry - there is no such thing as a concealed carry license in Georgia. ;)

"there is no such thing as a concealed carry license in Georgia. ;)"
Seems that is true. I went in for my concealed carry and they gave me a regular licence. Just be careful if you hop over the bridge.

What emanuel kant figure out

What emanuel kant figure out is, the "gun obsessed" are not the ones committing the crimes. I challenge emanual to find me a recent case where a law abiding, "gun obsessed" "right wing" individual murdered someone in cold blood, robbed someone, or invaded someone's home. I'll bet emanual kant.

If you get whacked in the head with a baseball bat, you aren't gonna be able to get to a gun.

But Augusta is safe, just ask Countyman.

A bit of advice for people

A bit of advice for people renting apartments would be to check with the local police substation on the crime at the location. They are the ones who know what is going on. I looked this apartment up and guess what, all the comments said you don't want to live there. Its really a terrible thing when you can't even be safe in your own area.
