Fundraiser fireworks are stolen from stand

More than $7,000 in fireworks taken from football team, church efforts

  • Follow Aiken

More than $7,000 was stolen from a fireworks stand on East Pine Log Road that was raising funds for an Aiken church and south Aiken football team, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.

The TNT Fireworks Stand, located in front of the Southside Free Will Baptist Church, was broken into early Sunday morning, incident reports show.

Randy Valandingham, who operated the stand, told officers he was returning to pick up a Bible he left behind when he found the padlock missing, the doors wide open and fireworks stolen. The stand's profits were going toward the church's youth group and to buy new equipment for the South Aiken football team. This is the second year the church has operated the stand.

Valandingham told officers the total cost of stolen merchandise will be estimated when they return the stand today.

@fish2 Cash and fireworks

@fish2 Cash and fireworks were stolen, but the police report doesn't detail how much of either, which is a typical practice. We're still waiting on updates from the church.

There is no man in the

There is no man in the clouds, that's why. When one person imagines something it's called a delusion, when a group of people imagine something... for some reason we call it religion and society is supposed to respect this mass delusion. How modern science has not classified religion as a mental disease, I have yet to understand.

The fact that millions of people die every year fighting over who's imaginary friend is better is the really sad part. The world needs to abolish religion, and quick before it abolishes us all.

"More than $7,000 was stolen

"More than $7,000 was stolen from a fireworks stand"

As I read it, that means $7,000 in cash was stolen.

AC, you are better than this.

Hey Armed, it's actually

Hey Armed, it's actually billions, but it's true... and you know it or you'd argue and provide proof to the contrary.

From "The End of Faith": "Tell a devout Christian that his wife is cheating on him, or that frozen yogurt can make a man invisible, and he is likely to require as much evidence as anyone else, and to be persuaded only to the extent that you give it. Tell him that the book he keeps by his bed was written by an invisible deity who will punish him with fire for eternity if he fails to accept its every incredible claim about the universe, and he seems to require no evidence whatsoever."

What makes you think I need

What makes you think I need to argue or prove anything to you Tony.C?

To be honest it sounds like you have some mental issues of your own you need to work through, perhaps some self esteem issues.

See? Its fun to assume things.
