An Augusta man police were searching for in connection with a Martinez armed robbery and shooting was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

Winston Cornileus Martin, 22, was taken into custody without incident in Augusta. He was wanted on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault, said Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris.

Just after 6 a.m. Tuesday, Ronald Rayford Wynn, 31, called police to his Ridge Crossing Apartments home to report a home invasion. He claimed that he was shot in the forearm by three men wearing ski masks who forced their way into his apartment just before 2 a.m., according to Morris.

Police arrested Wynn on Tuesday afternoon and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, Morris said.

Also Tuesday, police charged Brandon Sakel Ross, 22, of Augusta, with armed robbery and aggravated assault. All three men are being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records.
