Just after 6 a.m., Ronald Raiford Wynn, 31, called police to his Ridge Crossing Apartments home to report a home invasion. He claimed that he was shot in the forearm by three men wearing ski masks who forced their way into his apartment just before 2 a.m., according to Columbia County sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris.
Police arrested Wynn on Tuesday afternoon and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, Morris said.
Police also charged Brandon Ross, 22, of Augusta, with criminal attempt armed robbery and aggravated assault, Morris said. His vehicle was seized and taken to the sheriff's office impound lot for processing.
A second suspect in the alleged assault has been identified, but Morris said he is not releasing the name pending his arrest.
