Twin sisters were arrested Sunday after four children, ages 2 to 4, were found unattended in an apartment at 2515 Center West Parkway, according to an incident report.

Richmond County sheriff's deputies responding to a report of child abandonment at 6:30 a.m. found the door open, feces on the porch and walls, trash everywhere and two bathtubs filled with water, the report said.

Deputies located Cameshia Towns, mother of two of the children, in another building. Towns told deputies she'd left the children sleeping about 1 a.m.

Kateshia Allen, the mother of the other two children, was arrested when the Chrysler she was riding in stopped at a store on Washington Road.

The women, both 23, are charged with contributing to the deprivation of minors. The children were in protective custody with the Department of Family and Children Services.

Oneoranother that has to be

Oneoranother that has to be the most ignorant statement I have ever heard considering a heterosexual WOMAN raised you! I do hope your comment was wrote to stir up replies and not how you really see things.

Who in their right mind would

Who in their right mind would leave their children asleep or not alone in a house?? What is so sad is this children may eventually be placed back with these "mothers".

Just goes to show that you

Just goes to show that you can take people out of the Ghetto, but you can't take the Ghetto out of the people. But really all these people have to do is join a church and they will have all the support they need to keep those little money makers they have. Man the daddys are going to be in a hurt with the babies gone and no money coming in from the Bs. Sounds like a sound track from a nasty rap song I heard blareing at the gas station.

These two women are both

These two women are both "par" and "pillars" of the community.

Johnston -I'm asking myself

Johnston -I'm asking myself the same question. And Dissman - you are SO right. And to think, my family used to live off of Center West. The fact that both sets of kids are the same age, creates new questions.

Where does it say in the

Where does it say in the article? They're from the ghetto or on welfare. I always see people used the terms ghetto, urban, and welfare, but only on certain articles. I didn't know having dirty house means you're from the ghetto or on welfare. It's funny because ghetto, urban, or welfare wasn't used once in the article on the kids who broke into Augusta Prep.

And how can you be on welfare and live on Center West Pkwy.

Where the baby daddies???

Where the baby daddies??? That's probably the funniest thing I've ever heard come coming out of Augusta. If this community had "baby daddies" present, it wouldn't have so many problems. Unfortunately, that concept just ain't in da culcha.

This is the kind of

This is the kind of irresponsible parenting that sets tots up to die--there is no excuse for the mothers' behavior. Hope DFCS terminates their parental rights and places the little tykes up for adoption--these two 'adults' do not deserve to have children.

@ Tony C...I couldn't find

@ Tony C...I couldn't find some of the words you used in the dictionary..@Ismith you are just ignorant...Me and my twin sister( not the irresponsible women mentioned in this article) hold 5 degrees (still in college), own houses, cars paid for, and married. We are from "da culcha" and know who our " babies daddies" are lol...I laugh at ignorant people like you both and anyone else who living in the 50's. Here's the deal....the government needs to stop giving out free money that people like me work for. These girls(most likely) are very capable of working. As a mother, if my husband died in Iraq, ill work my buns off to make sure my kids had the best. I wouldnt go looking for hand outs. If these girls realized the hell our grandparents went through to protect us from ignorant people like you all, they would have too much pride to be labeled anything but successful. They are not responsible enough to get their kids back!

Wow Dixeman your true colors are coming through. I didn't know something simple as a name makes you ghetto! This whole time I thought it was on how you conducted yourself. Well I guess Condoleezza Rice is obviously ghetto then.

The free handouts are not

The free handouts are not just being given to one culture of people, it is being given out across the board and it needs to stop and baronvonreich is right, the republicans nor the democrats have done anything to stop it but when the republicans at least try to come up with a solution which they have in the past, the democrats shoot it down. Government big enough to give you everything you need is big enough to take everything you have and my bank account proves it...about 66% of what I make every year is going to taxes of one kind or another, enough is enough, everybody who is physically able to work should have to work and if they want a check it should not be free they should be made to do some type of community service for the check they get and also pass a drug screen.

drea007 - I'm very happy for

drea007 - I'm very happy for both you, and your sister. And I agree, that the Federal government needs to quit giving hand-outs to able-bodied women who are apparently only capable of sperm reception. We work hard for our money, and don't like it given to people who do not deserve it, who leave their chidren alone. I hope DFACS keeps the children, also.

ripjones I would almost bet

ripjones I would almost bet that the young ladies have their kids back bedfore the next welfare check is in the mail. They will promise to be good mamas' and the case worker will probably recommend some counseling and of course their church will have members attesting to their fine character. Why, these girls love their babys and it would be a sin to deny them the custody. BTW what kind of boyfriend goes with a woman whose house has feces on the walls and stinks like a sewer?

County- what a dazzling display of racist ignorance; Condaleeza is a phrase anyone whose musical tastes stray from ghetto blasting rap will recognize as the Italian phrase, "con dolcezza," which means to play sweetly or softly.

Let's see, names of females,

Let's see, names of females, ages of females, #of kids, kids ages, locations where adult females were located, I wouldn't call them moms. A better term would be "baby factories" ---yep, I do believe that says it all! Any more questions. DFACS, if you ever give these kids back to "these people", and I use the term loosely, your organization needs to be disbanded and you all put out of a job!

Another example of why we

Another example of why we need sterilization laws and regulations. =) It's pretty bad when between 2 of them neither one have any common sense. Poor kids, thank God none of them died due to these 2 idiots. They shouldn't be allowed to have anymore kids, but they and others worse than them can if they want to no matter how horrible of parents they are. Everyone screams about protecting the kids, but yet no one wants to protect them by putting a stop to immoral and/or incapable people from having them. "It's their rights to have them" they cry, but yet the kids have no rights not to be born to negligent and/or abusive people. People only care about the rights of children after their lives are endangered but not about preventing it to start with. You need a license and training for everything except the most important job of all...being a parent. No parent is perfect, but some could care less to even try to be a decent one.
