Two Augusta teens who were hoping to get a deal on an iPod touch were robbed instead.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff''s office report, the  two were at Westberry Creek Apartments around 10:45 p.m. Friday with a third teen who told them that they were to meet an unknown man there to purchase an iPod touch for a cheap price.

Instead, three men in dark clothing and ski masks approached them and demanded money. One bandit displayed a handgun, one of the victims told deputies.

One victim gave the thieves his cell phone and $152. The other also gave them his cell phone.

The suspects then ran from the scene, and so did the person who told them to meet there, according to the report.

Anytime someone says they

Anytime someone says they have a "deal" on something and there is another party involved your "this is too good to be true" alarm should start going off. Teens need to be taught about warrenties and return policies at because though you may pay more at a chain store you have protection in case something happens whereas if you buy from an individual you never know what you are getting. A good example is from the christmas movie where the father is looking for the Turbo Man toy and gets a spanish version.

Sorry to hear it was your son

Sorry to hear it was your son augusta resident. Yes, corgi is right. I hope your son learned a lesson about dealing with criminals. I'm sorry it had to be such a hard one, but glad he wasn't hurt. Any loser who puts a gun in someones face should never see the light of day again!!!! I hope your son is giving the name of this "go to" kid to the police.

Augusta Resident - be careful

Augusta Resident - be careful because your son could be charged with possession of stolen property. He doesn't have to be the one who stole it to get in trouble.

Let me worry about what my son did, I don't condone it, I said I need to call the police back with more info that I gained and they didn't. I do work shift work . I work at night and sleep during the day. I appreciate ya'll armchair quarterbacking my parenting and our law enforcenment. I will delete my prior post so it doesn't confuse all the Dick Traceys in Augusta.

Just so you know that the article is wrong, the information is incorrect and i would know; i was there. Maybe find the right information before jumping to conclusions..

I posted the right

I posted the right information earlier and people can't seem to get it so I deleted it. People hear and read what they want. I'd give you the kids name but I don't want to make his mamas car payments.

Well little boy if you think

Well little boy if you think purchasing an ipod from strangers at an apartment complex is a smart thing to do........lol (well I am sure you realize now that it wasn't).....thieves and those that support them usually have no honor.....(remember that)

First of all until it is your

First of all until it is your child and this happens to them you should keep your comments to yourself, especially when you don't know the whole story. I'm sure you know that these stories are not always correct or have all of the facts. You take what you read, assume it is correct and then make your own assumptions. Haven't you ever heard what happens when you "[filtered word]-u-me"? I did have a few other things on my mind to say/post, but I will be a better person and not...I know what happened, these boys know what happened and the ones who done it know what happened. All of you other people who assume things....assume away, hopefully you or your child/children will never have to go through this. Thanks for being sooooo understanding and compassionate.
