Eight cases of beer worth $80 were stolen out of a tractor-trailer today.

The theft happened around 4 a.m. while the truck was parked at the Pilot gas station in the 2900 block of Gun Club Road. The truck's driver told a deputy he was sleeping when he felt someone moving around in the trailer.

The beer thief fled when the truck driver got out of the cab.
