Richmond County investigators are still searching for a suspect wanted for a February fatal crash.
The sheriff's office is looking for James Richard Brantley, 29, for first-degree vehicular homicide and two charges of aggravated assault. He is also wanted in Edgefield County for burglary and wanted on charges of felony forgery in Richmond County for a separate incident, according to authorities.
The wreck happened midday Feb.11 after Columbia County officers tried to pull over Brantley for a traffic stop. The pursuit continued into Richmond County, when police say Brantley ran a red light at the intersection of Wrightsboro Road and Heard Avenue, injuring three family members.
Glenn Beard, 86, died March 6 from his injuries.
Anyone with information on Brantley's whereabouts can contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at (706) 821-1080.
If this happened Feb, the police should know where he is. Did they check the Jail, prison,or stockade. I didn't read that he escaped their chase, an d if he did they should have been looking for him for a while.
Well I see non of the regular posters who would be BLASTING this article with post if this was a black dude pic have yet to comment. Go figure.
lets see..a wanted criminal booking picture available...hmmmmm looks to me he was in the "system" previously but as usual the criminal justice system let him go when he should have been locked up...regardless of what he did, someone is dead because of him, but if he was where he should have been the victim would be alive today...
