  • Follow Crime & courts

The final suspect in the December fatal shooting of Henry Stokes turned himself over to authorities this morning.

The arrest of 23-year-old Dominique Demario Ellis comes a day after his alleged accomplice in the slaying, Marqueem Jermaine Mays, 25, was charged.

Richmond County Sheriff's Sgt. Calvin Chew said Ellis is charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and aggravated assault.

A third man, Bennie Lorenzo Bell, 22, was arrested earlier this month.

Stokes, 37, was found dead on Dec. 28 at a boarding house in the 1600 block of Cleveland Street. He had been shot at least once.

If they had parents who were

If they had parents who were trying to prepare their kids for a future, they would probably be on their way to work this morning like every other civilized person. As it is, they were probably taught to take what they wanted at any expense, that society owed them for a great injustice and that everything like education, responsibility, life and happiness comes free or with little effort. Now, society will continue to support their stupidity by providing them with legal representation, at my expense, and I can guess with some surety what their defense will be.
