Richmond County Investigators are searching for a man whom they say kidnapped his 6-year-old son at gunpoint from the child's home Monday night.

Maurice Leon Holland, 27, of Pearl Avenue, is wanted on charges of kidnapping, terroristic threats and acts and gun charges, according to Richmond County Sgt. Blaise Dresser.

About 5 p.m. last night, witnesses said Holland forced his way into his child's mother's home at gunpoint, a sheriff's report said.
The mother, Latasha White, wasn't home at the time so Holland took the child and fled the home. Sgt. Dresser said they located the boy last night at an apartment in Olmstead Homes off Broad Street and he was returned to his mother. White had previously filed charges against Holland for terroistic threats and acts, Sgt. Dresser said.

"She claims to have been getting terrorized by this man since she broke up with him," he said.

Anyone with information on the suspect can call the sheriff's office at (706) 821-1080.

I watched a man just exactly

I watched a man just exactly like this nutter murder the mother of his little girl because his best friend had helped her get her car started. He shot her to death right through her windshield after chasing her down a residential street, firing the whole time. His baby was in the back seat when he did this.

While this worthless jerk is in prison for a loooong kidnapping stint, I hope this woman will wise up and build a life for herself and her son far away from the CSRA while she still can. Men like Holland don't ever change. They are completely obsessed.

Well, the article doesn't

Well, the article doesn't state whether the child was with someone. However, if the child was unsupervised, why would Holland have found a need to take the child at gunpoint when he could have simply taken the child and left? Moreover, who would have reported the incident and told the mother who the perpetrator was if the child had been alone? And finally, if no one knew who had taken the child, how could anyone have known where to begin the search to find the child? I think that given these questions an assumption that the child was not alone would be within reason since he probably didn't need a gun to make a six year old comply. That may not be the case but it seems reasonable.

Folks I thought it was a very good story and the purpose is to keep a watch out for this guy. I expect a follow up story about the Olmstead homes resident being kicked out for aiding and abeting a crime. That is the projects isn't and we (taxpayers) do own it don't we?

Anotherlook, the article

Anotherlook, the article mentions "witnesses" but not who they were. They could be next door neighbors. As to the gun, the man's actions prove him to be a coward and cowards need all the leverage that they can get. Why, he might have encountered the angry mother and needed to protect himself!

hmmm let's see, obviously a

hmmm let's see, obviously a booking picture, but he's still on the run..could this be by golly a booking picture from a past crime???my guess it is..so when he is caught of course he will be afforded evry constitutional right know in the free world and then out will trot a "scumbag" lawyer who will advice him to plead "not guilty", then the lawyer will work dilligently to get hime acquitted to he will then be free to repeat this crime and maybe next time someone will get hurt or killed, and of course then the lawyer will feign sympathy and say that it is unfortunate but will not be held responsible in any way...i say lawyers, judges and parole/pardon boards should be held liable should repeat offenders committ more crimes..for this "winner" he should be locked away for about 30 years w/o any chance for parole...my philosophy is BUILD BIGGER AND MORE PRISONS
