WHAT YOUR BUSINESS DOES: The KARS Consulting Group specializes in providing assistance to nonprofits, community organizations and small businesses in a variety of areas. Our innovative new Virtual Consulting Service provides a way for organizations to acquire the volunteers, contributions, donations, publicity and support they need to sustain themselves. Additionally, we provide grant-writing services, create donation-request letters, volunteer-recruitment materials, press releases and other materials to help them effectively convey their message and garner support. For small businesses, we assist them in getting started, developing their business ideas, creating a mini business plan, and the materials they need to look good, sound good and give them the best chance for success in their business. With all of our clients, we create the needed materials for them while at the same time teaching them the process so they can do it for themselves. Part of our business model is to provide free information to startups, nonprofits, community organizations and small businesses to answer questions they may have about getting started or about improving their organization.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO THIS BUSINESS?: We founded The KARS Consulting Group for a single purpose: to help those who needed it by providing access to resources, information, expertise and to teach them to become self-sufficient and do for themselves. We took our number of years of experience as a teacher, adjunct instructor, grant writer, entrepreneur, general manager, executive director, writer and trainer and decided to offer our services to be able to help as many organizations and small businesses as possible.
GOALS FOR YOUR FIRST YEAR: To expand our practice regionally and grow the number of resources and assistance available to nonprofits, community organizations and small businesses.
WHERE YOU SEE YOUR BUSINESS IN FIVE YEARS/10 YEARS: To have grown into a national consulting group comprised of professionals from a variety of fields who come together to provide support, training and information to our communities.
MOST IMPORTANT BUSINESS PRINCIPLE: Our philosophy is best summed up this way: "Give a man a fish; he eats for a day (if he can cook). Teach a man to fish (and give him some good recipes and spices); he eats for a lifetime (and well)." At The KARS Consulting Group, we strive to always leave our clients better than they were when we found them. We don't just do things for them. We teach them in the process.
ROLE MODELS/INSPIRATIONS: Any person who has a passion for their dream and the capacity for risking it all to make it come true. I'm personally inspired by my husband and partner, who despite all odds, constantly strives to help those he meets.
