It’s fun to read iPhone rumors and imagine what the magic makers at Apple could have for us next – and the latest rumor is a real doozy.
Apparently, a patent has been filed and granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for Apple’s system to correct colors in underwater photography. The iPhone is specifically mentioned in the patent language. This, coupled with another consistent rumor – that the next iPhone will not have a headphone jack – would make sense for a phone that could be submerged.
WHAT’S TRENDY. OPI, the nail polish brand that is a standby in most bathroom cabinets and salons, has recently unveiled their fall Washington D.C. Nail Lacquer Collection. The line is themed on Kerry Washington (actress on ABC’s Scandal TV show) and the D.C. scene in general. The shades are warm and jewel-toned, with names like Never a Dulles Moment and Pale To The Chief. I like that there’s a little bit more color than we saw last fall. The shades are available now anywhere OPI polish and lacquers are sold.
WHAT’S AFFORDABLE. Garden City Jazz, the City of Augusta, Humanitree House and a swarm of other local organizations have prepared a very exciting Labor Day weekend lineup, every piece sounding too good to miss.
The weekend kicks off Sept. 1 with a Boney James and Marsha Anderson performance at Bell Auditorium, and carries over into First Friday with a block party downtown, a craft brewery tour at RiverWatch Brewery, and more. The fun continues Saturday with a day party, a James Brown Family Historical Tour at the Augusta Museum of History and another opportunity to tour RiverWatch Brewery.
Sunday is the real highlight day, however, with a Candlelight For A Cause music festival and white party, topped off with a Rooftop Soiree at Metro Market in downtown Augusta. Some of these events require tickets, but many are free and all proceeds go to help local music and scholarship efforts. Find all the information at GardenCityJazz.com.
