Do you follow accounts and share photos online that promise someone might win a free iPad, gift card or plane tickets? I hate to break it to you, but they are overwhelmingly fake. I know it’s tempting to believe liking, sharing, tagging, commenting and following will get you a free pair of Ray-Bans, but it just won’t. The most widespread offenders are accounts pretending to be Delta Airlines, Ray-Ban, Best Buy and even Sallie Mae. A great rule of thumb is don’t ever click on links to get free stuff, and definitely don’t ever surrender your personal information. You know what they say – if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I was in Seattle this past weekend and met a fantastic jewelry designer named Moorea Seal you should check out. Her online shop, www.mooreaseal.com, is a collection of affordable pieces from U.S. handcrafters that are right on trend and so much fun.
She has great art prints, accessories, handbags, jewelry and gift items that will make perfect gifts this holiday season. Moorea is a Pinterest pro (she has more than 859,000 followers!), and her site reads like a Pinterest page where everything is for sale. As an added bonus, she gives a little bit from each sale to a variety of nonprofits.
