Augusta Mall is getting another big-name retailer this fall when Michael Kors opens up. The luxury store will go on the second floor of the mall directly across from Victoria’s Secret and Bare Minerals.

This is another great improvement for the mall and the Augusta shopping scene. The Augusta location is the first Michael Kors store in Georgia outside of the Atlanta area. The closest one in South Carolina is in Hilton Head.

WHAT’S TRENDY

Have you started coveting fall clothing and boots yet? In this in-between time, sometimes the most frustrating challenge is knowing whether you’ll freeze to death without a jacket or burn up in long sleeves.

Believe it or not, I’ve found an app that makes that decision for you. Is It Sweater Weather? is available for iOS and Android devices and gives you a judgment on whether you need a sweater based on the weather forecast and humidity levels for your ZIP code.

Sure, you could do that on your own, but the app is just adorable and would be a super fun addition to your home screen. Did I mention it’s free?

WHAT’S AFFORDABLE

Be sure not to miss Arts in the Heart! It’s one of my favorite weekends out of the entire year.

This year is the 33rd annual festival, and it promises the usual feast of specialty ethnic food, local art, handmade items and a long lineup of local performance acts and bands. The festival kicks off Friday, Sept. 20, at 5 p.m., and ends Sunday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. Children younger than 10 years old get in free, and weekend passes are $5 if you buy them ahead of time at any SunTrust location.
