They’ve been in process for a while now, but the Wesley Cadle Life Style store is finally open.
A retail outlet for interior designer Wesley Cadle Jr., the store is at 1419 Monte Sano Ave. and is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. I went in and it was beautiful. The space is warm and inviting and is divided into several areas. My favorite was the outdoor space – a terrace out back equipped with lovely tables and interesting pottery.
Cadle has designed for spaces during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York and the 2011 Augusta Symphony Guild Cotillion.
The Nest candles would perfect for that person on your list who is impossible to buy for.
When people suggest apps to me, promising to simplify my life beyond my wildest dreams, I am very hesitant. When an app really does turn out to be a good idea, it’s a nice surprise.
The Better Gift List iPhone app is one of those apps. Only $1.99, it’s a tricked-out gift list with everything you used to keep track of in your head.
You can set a budget for each person, and as you record purchases the app reminds you how much spending room you have left. It reminds you where you purchased the gift in case of returns.
The app works as a calendar, too, so you won’t forget a birthday or anniversary. The app designer also sells the Better Christmas List. The apps can be password protected to make sure gifts remain a surprise.
The Augusta Chorale’s Christmas concert is today and it is a wonderful way to hear high-class music at a down-home price.
The chorale is performing Vivaldi’s Gloria, with help from Suzuki Strings of Augusta and the choirs of Glenn Hills, Cross Creek and Butler high schools. The concert begins at 4 p.m. at the beautiful Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel at Paine College.
Tickets cost $5 for students and $15 for adults.
Last year, the group performed Handel’s Messiah and it was inspiring. This year’s performance promises to be just as goosebump-inducing.
