A two-story H&M store in Augusta Mall will open in mid-August.

A grand opening for the 23,000-square-foot retail store is set for noon Aug. 14, said Andy Wilke, the general manager of the mall.

H&M’s store was announced in May 2013 and has been under construction next to Barnes & Noble and American Eagle. The store will carry apparel and accessories for women, men, teens and children.

The Augusta store is the first in eastern Georgia for the Swedish retailer.

H&M has more than 3,300 store in 54 international markets. The first store opened in 1947 in Sweden.
