Georgia Power’s Augusta region is under new leadership.
Truitt Eavenson left his position as East Region vice president to become the company’s vice president of governmental and regulatory affairs at the Atlanta headquarters, company spokesman Brian Green said.
Fran Forehand, who previously managed Georgia Power’s Metro North Region, was chosen this month to replace Eavenson in the Augusta office.
The East Region encompasses more than 155,000 customers in Augusta and surrounding communities.
Eavenson, who joined Georgia Power in 1984, oversaw operations across Augusta for four years. In his new role, he will lead the company’s state government efforts, managing issues and filings before the Georgia Public Service Commission.
He previously worked at Georgia Power as a distribution engineer and held several leadership positions, including operating supervisor for Madison, Winder and the Northern Region, in addition to being the state legislative affairs manager.
He also served as treasurer on the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors in 2013.
As Georgia Power’s Metro North Region manager, Forehand managed operations for customers in Gwinnett, Forsyth, north Fulton and DeKalb counties in metro Atlanta. She has worked for Georgia Power since 1996 and has served as the company’s land acquisition manager, middle Georgia transmission manager, maintenance center supervisor, and maintenance and reliability supervisor.
