Texas Roadhouse will open for dinner on Oct. 21 at 107 Sherwood Drive, near the Washington Road intersection. The 7,100-square-foot chain restaurant has been under construction since May.

About 200 employees will be employed at the restaurant, which is the 11th to locate in Georgia. The company had expressed interest in bringing a restaurant to Augusta for more than a year and chose the two-acre lot next to Country Inn & Suites for its high visibility and big box neighbors, according to Texas Roadhouse spokesperson Travis Doster.

The restaurant can accommodate more than 250 diners.

Texas Roadhouse first opened in 1993 in Indiana and now has more than 300 location scattered across the country. The closest restaurants to Augusta are in Columbia.

West Augusta is booming!

West Augusta is booming! I hope the positive information is shared on the Chronicle's Facebook page.

Why is this article stuck all the way at the bottom, and the Bilo renovations in Martinez were under Top headlines?

The Sky Is Falling...

...no Qdoba, no Chipotle, no Fuddruckers, no Cheesecake Factory.

Bringing a franchise restaurant chain (one location) is no indicator that Augusta is booming Countyman/Nortonguy.

Please share the growth in

Please share the growth in the other areas of the CSRA then? If West Augusta is not booming then what area is exactly?

What about the Whole Foods, Residence Inn by Marriott, Genghis Grill, H&M, Michael Kors, new Walmart, etc in West Augusta?

What about the commercial development in front of Kroger on Washington rd?

What about the 50k SQ. FT. skilled nursing facility coming to Pleasant Home rd?

Do you want me to include the Cabelas, movie theater, etc in North Richmond?

The H&M is the first location in Georgia outside of metro Atlanta, and they have zero existing locations in South Carolina.

The Cabela is only the third location in the entire southeast.
