New manager named for Augusta Mall

  • Follow Local Business

Augusta Mall has a new general manager.

Minnesota native Andrew Wilke has taken over as the mall’s new manager after serving as assistant general manager at an Iowa mall, Jordan Creek Town Center. Wilke previously spent nine months as the acting general manager at the Mall of the Bluffs in Iowa. He is a graduate of Minnesota State University, where he studied public administration and urban planning, said Melissa Wolf, Augusta Mall’s regional marketing manager.

Wilke replaces Linda Hardin, who left her position in 2012. An interim manager performed the job until Wilke was hired.

The mall is nearly full, with a 90 percent occupancy level, as last reported in mid-May when Swedish fashion retailer H&M announced adding a 23,000-square-foot, two-level store in the mall near Barnes & Noble and American Eagle Outfitters.

Maybe 4/5ths???

Have you been down towards Sears lately? Go past the food court, lower level especially, and management might as well hang a sign that says Regency Mall. Only good news is they have done a good job corralling the crap to one end.

Augusta Mall

The person above created a screen name just for this article. Thebcomment above is hilarious, and completely false. The Augusta mall is by far the most upscale outside of metro Atlanta, and even more upscale compared to several malls throughout Atlanta. The area near Sears might not be comparable to the Promenade, but the two story Forever 21 opened in the area. All of the mall will continue to improve with the H&M, Victoria Secret's Pink Store, House of Hoops, etc.

I'm happy to see Augusta mall getting stores not located outside of metro Atlanta, but even one's not presently in South Carolina. H&M will come to Augusta before the rumored locations opening in Charleston and Greenville.
