Chick-fil-A in Augusta Exchange reopens after remodeling

The Chick-fil-A in Augusta Exchange shopping center debuted a new look Friday.

The restaurant at 202 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway reopened after a six-week remodeling of its interior and exterior. The updated design reflects a new corporate concept.

The restaurant was gutted to accommodate a different layout, modern furnishings and a new playground.

“It’s got more of an upscale cafe feel to it,” franchise owner Kenny Hanna said.

The restaurant also now has double drive-though lanes.

“Our biggest challenge has always been having one lane,” Hanna said.

Therestaurant, which opened in 2000, is one of the first to feature the new Chick-fil-A concept and was chosen because of its high sales and community support.
