The GrowSmart program, a collaborative effort by the Columbia County Development Authority and University of Georgia Small Business Development Center, teaches participants about growth strategies for their businesses.

The program begins Tuesday at the Columbia County Development Authority office at 1000 Business Blvd. in Evans. It concludes May 21. Each session is set for 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

GrowSmart is offered to businesses open for at least two years, that have at least one employee other than the owner and with an annual revenue of $300,000 or more.

The interactive program covers marketing, leadership and management, financial analysis and operations and plan implementation.

The cost is $895, but a limited number of $500 scholarships are available. Chamber of commerce members can attend the sessions for $295.

The program was developed by the Small Business Development Center to meet the needs of growing businesses and assist owners in analyzing and managing their companies.
