Mexican restaurant opens in Augusta

A Mexican restaurant has opened near the intersection of Walton Way and Baker Avenue in Augusta.

Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant opened March 7 at 920 Baker Ave. in the building formerly occupied by Ming Wah Chinese restaurant.

Los Cabos co-owner Manuel Cortez said seven staff members were hired. The dining room can accommodate about 120 people.

Cortez said the renovations involved adding a bar, televisions, and new tables and chairs.

About time

I'm glad that we finally got a Mexican restaurant in Augusta.

LOL, faboyhog.

Me too. Still, with Teresa's having had a devastating fire, I don't believe there is another one in the medical center area, so this is a good thing, IMO. We shall see how their food is.

I hope they painted the walls a lighter color and make the place brighter. Ming Wah was so dark. That revelation about hanging meat outside "for the staff to eat" absolutely was the death knell for that restaurant.

Went there today for lunch

The fish and the shrimp tacos were the best I've had around here. Really good and so was the salsa. The chips are the same as every other place. The prices are about what they were at Teresa's.

I'll definitely be going back.
