Augusta Chick-fil-A to close for remodeling

  • Follow Local Business

The Chick-fil-A in the Augusta Exchange will close temporarily in April for renovations.

The restaurant on Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway will close at 10 p.m. April 5, with a reopening tentatively set for mid-May, said the restaurant’s marketing director, Lillian Huber.

The building will be gutted for a total remodel, Huber said. It will be the first restaurant to feature the new Chick-fil-A concept.

The dining area will likely remain the same size but will have a new layout and decor, she said.

The location was chosen for renovations because of its high sales volume and community support, Huber said. The restaurant opened in 2000.

Why wouldn't you wait until AFTER Master's week to start renovations?

Why wouldn't you wait until AFTER Master's week?

To enjoy Spring Break, to enjoy Master's week, etc. Folks will be waiting at the doors when they reopen in May.

Washington Road

So everyone has to get into the Washington Road mayhem and go to their location there or the smart people will go to Evans or North Augusta!

They should build one in

They should build one in South Augusta next, because of the two West Augusta locations.

Who are they?

Surely there are some South Augusta residents with enough funding to invest in a franchise. Step up and stop waiting for someone else.

I often wonder though about....

their claim that they "invented" the chicken sandwich.

Not bragging about my age, but I think I graduated high school right behind Abe Lincoln and at least once a week my mom made us kids the most tender, delicious, succulent chicken breast sandwiches anyone ever tasted.

Granted, they were on Sunbeam white bread and with a liberal spread of Miracle Whip dressing. Still makes me hungry just thinking about it.
