Business seminar focuses on employment laws

The Greater Augusta Employer Committee will sponsor a seminar for employers on laws in the workplace.

The seminar for business owners, human resource managers, supervisors and entrepreneurs will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Augusta Career Center, 601 Greene St.

It will focus on various federal employment laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, and laws regarding social media in the workplace.

The cost of the seminar, which includes a continental breakfast, is $25 per person and $20 for each additional attendee from the same organization. The deadline to register is Feb. 19 at www.gaec2.eventbrite.com.
