Fresh Market adding Aiken store

The Fresh Market is opening in Aiken, bringing with it job opportunities.

Between 80 and 90 positions, ranging from managerial to culinary jobs, will be available at the grocery store, according to Anna Current, a research coordinator for RCI Recruitment Solutions.

The new Fresh Market will be at 2013 Whiskey Road, according to the company’s Web site.

The Aiken store will be the second Fresh Market in the metro area. In 2009, Fresh Market moved its Augusta store to a new storefront at National Hills Shopping Cen­ter on Washington Road. It first opened locally in 1990.

The North Carolina-based chain is holding an open house for potential employees from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at Woodside Plan­tation Country Club, 100 Wood­side Plan­ta­tion Drive in Aiken.

The Fresh Market has 129 stores nationwide.
