Walmart is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and has chosen the Grovetown store to host the Georgia celebration.

The celebration will take place Wednesday at the 5010 Steiner Way store from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be door prize drawings, free refreshments, games and a watermelon seed spitting contest at 1 p.m.

Fire trucks, a fire safety smoke house and Coca-Cola wagons will be at the store as well as mascots from the Augusta Riverhawks and the Kroc Center, Tony the Tiger and Lucky the Leprechaun.

Walmart will hold one anniversary celebration per state, according to company publications.

Details regarding the South Carolina celebration have not been finalized.

Wow.. Walmart managed to come
Unpublished

Wow.. Walmart managed to come up with another gimmick to trick people into coming to their store. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this spectacle.
