Owner Stewart Flanagin sold his business at the corner of Monte Sano and Central avenues to Rite-Aid pharmacy and will be working at the Rite-Aid in Daniel Village Shopping Center. His lease was up, he said, and he wanted to spend more time with his family.

“I decided to slow down a little bit and just be a pharmacist,” he said.

He has owned Hill Drug Co. for more than 20 years.

The store had three employees besides Flanagin, but he said he will be the only one working for Rite-Aid.

His customers should not notice a difference in their service, he said.

“This was good for Rite-Aid and good for me,” Flanagin said.
