New Moon Cafe moving to White's building in mid-May

  • Follow Local Business

New Moon Cafe will relocate to the White’s Building in mid-May from its current downtown location, 1002 Broad St.

Christine Allewelt, New Moon’s owner, said in a news release the new location at 936 Broad St. provides a much-needed larger space, gated patio and mezzanine for private events.

The White’s Building, formerly the home to the J.B. White department store, has been under renovation for years into 51 residential condominiums. Paul King, the owner of Rex Property and Land, said in a news release that New Moon “will add a much needed vitality to the multi-use residential project.”

New Moon plans to provide benefits and discounts to building residents.

The décor and ambiance are

The décor and ambiance are funky like a California coffee shop. It’s a fanciful place where you leave central Georgia for a bit. But the music is loud. I wonder how those living upstairs are going to like that?

Would love to see them expand

Would love to see them expand their hours with this move, there is not a smoke free coffee shop downtown that is open at nights, I would love to see that.
