Augusta Regional Airport traffic higher in January

The Augusta Regional Airport started 2012 with an 8.7 percent increase in passengers over January 2011.

American Eagle Express continued to serve Augusta throughout the month before ceasing service. About 3,200 passengers used the airline last month.

In all, 39,652 people traveled through the airport in January, up from 36,491 in January 2011.
