Wicked Wasabi, a sushi restaurant located for 11 years at 1048 Broad St., will close Saturday because owner Ayako Inaba is retiring.

Inaba, 65, said the restaurant’s lease was up for renewal, and she decided to retire rather than renew it.

Wicked Wasabi has three employees, including Inaba, her husband and another employee. Inaba said that she is unsure about her employee’s plans after the restaurant closes.

Inaba has been in the restaurant industry for 21 years. She owned Sasurai at 3412 Wrightsboro Road for 10 years before opening Wicked Wasabi, she said.
