Papa N Sons owner Dino Dakuras has announced he is putting the restaurant up for sale so he can spend more time with his family.
Dakuras and his father, Bill Dakuras, started the restaurant in 2000 as Dino’s Chicago Express on Furys Ferry Road. The business became a franchise in 2010 and a second location was added on Washington Road in Evans, but the Furys Ferry Road location closed in October 2011.
Bill Dakuras has been battling cancer during the past year, and Dino Dakuras said family was the main factor in his decision to get out of the business. The economy didn’t help much, either.
“Business could have been a lot better, I’m not going to lie,” he said. “It was very average.”
He has already had potential buyers express interest in the business. There are several buying options for interested parties, from buying the entire business to just equipment. The building lease is up in June, and Dino Dakuras said it is important to him that the transition is smooth for everyone.
“We aren’t going bankrupt, and we aren’t leaving anyone hanging,” he said. “I just don’t believe in doing business that way.”
After he gets out of the business, Dino Dakuras will work for Merchants Foodservice Co. to help restaurants get started, as well as consulting on the side.
