Moe's Southwest Grill is opening in Augusta Mall at 3450 Wrightsboro Road on Thursday. Atlanta-based Moe's is a fast-casual franchise that serves made-to-order burritos and Southwest fare, according to a news release.
The chain has more than 400 restaurants nationwide, including one on Whiskey Road in Aiken. Moe's is owned by Focus Brands Inc., the franchisor and operator of more than 2,200 Carvel, Cinnabon, Schlotzsky's and Moe's Southwest Grill restaurants and Seattle's Best Coffee on some military bases and in international markets.
2nd & Charles opens in Book-A-Million location
The replacement for Books-A-Million, 2nd & Charles, has opened at 2834 Washington Road.
The retailer buys and sells used merchandise, including books, movies, music and games.
Federal Reserve reveals details of emergency aid
WASHINGTON --- The Federal Reserve revealed details Wednesday of trillions in emergency aid it gave to U.S. and foreign banks and to nonbank companies ranging from General Electric to Harley-Davidson during the financial crisis.
New documents show that the most loan and other aid for U.S. institutions over time went to Citigroup ($2.2 trillion), followed by Merrill Lynch ($2.1 trillion), Morgan Stanley ($2 trillion), Bear Stearns ($960 billion), Bank of America ($887 billion), Goldman Sachs ($615 billion), JPMorgan Chase ($178 billion) and Wells Fargo ($154 billion).

WIKILEAKS SAYS Amazon.com kicked its Web site from its servers, forcing the site to move back to a Swedish provider. Sen. Joe Leiberman says the move comes after congressional staffers called Amazon.com Inc. to inquire about its relationship with WikiLeaks, which just released a trove of sensitive U.S. State Department documents.
VERIZON WIRELESS says its new "4G" wireless broadband network will start accepting customers Sunday in 38 cities. Initially, only laptop users will be able to take advantage of the higher data speeds offered by the network, compared with Verizon's 3G network. In a surprise, Verizon is charging less for 4G than for 3G. One data plan will cost $50 per month for 5 gigabytes of data, compared with $60 for 3G.
