Sammy Anderson, of Chem-Dry of CSRA, received the Small Business Person of the Year award Thursday at the Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce Business Expo.

"I want to thank the chamber and everybody that's been involved, responsible for this," Anderson said.

Chem-Dry is a family-owned business that began in 2001 in North Augusta. The business helps customers maintain carpet and textiles.

A nominator wrote, "Sammy loves and supports this town (North Augusta). He exemplifies a small business person in that he provides quality service at a fair price with the customers' feelings at heart. He truly cares about the people in this town and takes pride in what he does and stands for."

Anderson has been in the business industry since 1965. He has a wife, Sara, and three children, Sammy, Ashlyn and Chris.
