Home decor boutique to offer unusual wares

North Augusta's Jackson Square is about to become a little more decorative.

La Dee Da Home Décor and Gifts, at 336 Georgia Ave., Suite 101, will hold its grand opening today.

Owners Joe and Hope Seamon said merchandise will include seasonal items and wares that range from the hard-to-find to the unique.

"We have a little bit of everything," Hope Seamon said. "We went to lots of different places to pull products that are not available anywhere else around here. We have a lot of personalized items. We have candles, custom pottery, jewelry, unique handbags -- some of them made out of pallet case straps -- children's items, a little bit of everything."

Seamon said the store will carry Beatriz Ball metalware and Lisa Robin and Chelsea Taylor lines of jewelry.

"I felt like, in years past when Fat Man's closed down, it left a huge void in reference to the North Augusta and Aiken area for us to have somewhere to go for gifts that are just a little bit unusual," she said. "When it comes time for Christmas and fall and your other seasonal stuff, there has been a big hole for custom home decor."

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
